The surface of Jabiim is constantly hammered by torrential rains, having less than five days per standard year without precipitation. Due to its unstable electric field electric storms are also quite common, making repulsor craft largely useless on the planet. 
 
The planet contained valuable ore and was the sight of a major battle during the Clone Wars that proved disastrous for the Old Republic and was later occupied forcefully by the Galactic Empire.
 
Later due to Imperial over-mining the oil supplies began to dwindle and the few Imperial troops stationed there were constantly harassed by Jabiimi Rebels. Darth Vader ordered the Planet razed from orbit and dispatched troops to clear out the now empty mines turned fortresses. They would all fall within five days.
