Kalimdor was the ancient homeland of the Night Elves until the Battle of Mount Hyjal (seen in Warcraft III) when new races arrived to the continent, especially the Tauren, Trolls and Orcs. After that, Humans and later the Dranei made a new home in Kalimdor.
