Overview

Limbo Town was founded some 400 years ago, when the Roanoke colonists encountered Mister Melmoth. They descended deep below the surface to give birth to his Sheeda-children, and there, in the deeps, they founded a corrupted version of Puritan society, centred around witchcraft. Limbo Town is bounded all around by rock, save for a single gate, the Wicket Gate which leads to the subway tunnels and thus on to the mythical Blue Rafters- the surface world. Though it is completely underground, Limbo Town is lit by glowing rocks. These appear to serve as replacement sunlight, as there is some limited flora grown in Limbo Town, sufficient to feed its population, as well as a tree, the Bonding Tree, which produces familiars by unknown means. The exact size and population of Limbo Town is unknown.
