Michigan is the 26th state of the Union, admitted in 1837. It is the 11th largest state and the 8th most populous. The capital is Lansing, the largest city is Detroit. Michigan borders the Canadian province of Ontario, as well as the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
