After their home planet was destroyed by Surtur, the Korbinites designated Beta Ray Bill their protector. He lead them to a new home while the populace remained in statis. Eventually, Bill found them a suitable planet they dubbed New Korbin.

This was short-lived however as New Korbin would be consumed by Galactus the Devourer.
