In Earth-22, the most veteran heroes followed the example of Superman, who choose stay away from manking leaving a new breed of more violent vigilantes and metahumans "protect" the society.
Green Lantern built a giant space station, which twinkling like in the night sky like a verdant star. There Green Lantern commanded a lonely throne, ever vigilant, ever waiting for signs of threats extraterrestral. His satellite is supported by his power ring. For many years, no threat came from the stars.
When Superman returned, New Oa became the Justice League headquarters and a refugee.
After the events of the second Kansas Disaster, New Oa became a independent nation and joined to the UN.
New Oa also was seen as part of a dream sequence lived by Kyle Rayner during the Midsummer nightmare crisis.
