Pacific Ocean
The Pacific Ocean bounds Asia and Australia to the West, the Americas to the East, the Arctic to the North and Antarctica to the South. Its various inhabited island are sometimes counted as the continent of Oceania. It is the largest ocean on Earth.
Note: This ocean (and its marginal seas) should only be credited when a story takes place beneath the ocean's surface or outside the (specified) territorial waters of a particular nation. Characters visiting a coastal beach is not a creditable ocean appearance.
The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean on Earth. It is separated into the North Pacific and South Pacific. In contains the deepest point in the world's oceans, the Marianas Trench. In Grimm Fairy Tales, the trench is the home of the Sea Witch. The ocean appeared often in the silver age in the stories of Adam Strange , as he would wait over top of the ocean for the Zeta Beam to strike him.
Due to prevailing currents in the ocean, a large patch of floating debris (mostly plastic) has accumulated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean which has come to be known as the Pacific Trash Vortex. In the series Great Pacific this garbage has become a mostly solid island and forms the interest of the main character.
