Shamar is one of the southern provinces of Aquilonia that borders Ophir. Its location makes it a prime target for occupation for the Ophirians to launch further invasions. The province was captured by a joint Ophirian/Kothic army, but the city was never taken. The invaders were expulsed once King Conan returned with a large force of Aquilonians.
