The Ozarks (also referred to as Ozark Mountain Country, the Ozark Mountains or the Ozark Plateau) are a physiographic, geologic, and cultural highland region of the central United States. There's still genuine forestland there, great expanses of unspoiled natural greenery: green grass, green trees.

Covering much of the south half of Missouri and an extensive portion of northwest and North central Arkansas. The plateau also extends westward into northeast Oklahoma and far southeast Kansas.

That’s the reality, in comics however it’s another place altogether, inspired manly by the Li'l Abner comic strip, but also by Bugs Bunny cartoons, radio programs, and a short lived, but very popular genre called “Hillbilly Comedies”, The Ozarks are a place of hootin’ N’ hollerin’ rubes that are at their most mild, portrayed as rather extreme caricatures, while in others they are more like something from another planet.

And home of such places as Dog Patch, Possum Holler and other quant locals.

Marvel Comics

There is a Game Reserve. Hulk stayed there and became a friend of Bambi, a little deer.
