History

The shrine of the religious order of the Widowhood of Atlantis. This is where one of the main power groups of the Kingdom of Atlantis sits.

This place became one of the main political agents of Atlantis, especially under the leadership of the Reverend Mother Cetea, since from here the overthrow of Aquaman as king of Atlantis and the rise to power of Corum Rath were imposed.

When Corum Rath was revealed as a tyrant, it was decided from the Widowhood that they had to drive a new monarch, their choice being Mera de Xebel. While Mera was injured because of going through the magical confinement of The Silent School, it is in this place where they protected her until Aquaman destroyed said magical isolation. Following these events, the Tower of the Widowhood was the main headquarters from where the Aquaman rebellion attacked the dictator Rath.

During the reign of Mera, numerous clashes with the Reverend Mother Cetea, caused the confinement of this in prison, leaving the Widowhood without power. After the democratic establishment of Mera and Aquaman in Atlantis, the Tower of the Widowhood became the place of rest and aid for the less favored of Atlantis, recovering its original meaning.
