The Faithbreaker was formed along with Mjolnir centuries ago in Asgard and housed the spirit of Mokk within the hammer. Following the defeat of the Serpent, Cul and his armies, Cul hid the Faithbreaker along with other hammers in the dark reaches of Asgard. Following Cul's return, the Faithbreaker was called to Earth where it sought out the Grey Gargoyle and turned him into Mokk. Following the Serpent's death, the Faithbreaker recaptured Mokk and returned to Paris where it was taken by a cult of worshippers that enjoyed being turned into stone by Mokk, but was soon taken by Crossbones who took the hammer for Sin to be used to unleash the Destroyers from the pits of Asgard, but needs the other hammers to do so.
