Known in slang terms as a drag ship, the Interdictor was a support vessel similar to the larger Imperial Star Destroyers but had a unique component. the 4 bulbous domes are gravity well generators designed to prevent ships from fleeing into hyper space and even pulling ships out of hyper space lanes.
