A means of mechanical transport allowing people to fly. Usually incorporates a harness but otherwise resembles a backpack (that is to say it is different from a robotic exoskeleton). Usually depicted as a chemically based propulsion (it burns fuel in a rocket) though this is not an absolute. Some famous users are the Buck Rogers, Rocketeer and Adam Strange.
