How the Silver Sugar Tongs came into existence is unknown. They are the only physical part of the Dead Hand. For a long time, a man named Harry Christmas hid them away. But the reach of the Pentagon is vast, and Harry, along with the tongs, was captured. The tongs were then used to harvest the Husks, the remains of the astral self, the greed and desires, by the Pentagon. These were turned into the Men from N.O.W.H.E.R.E.
When the Doom Patrol invaded the Pentagon, the Tongs were destroyed by Crazy Jane.
