After the events of the "Civil War", Tony Stark became the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.. To protect planet Earth from an attack that Earth's heroes won't be able to deal with, so he designed and built a secret satellite station that is also an armor in order to protect the earth. The satellite armor is so secret that even shield doesn't know it exists.
