Career

Bill Pearson first became involved in comic books in 1966, when he was made associate editor of his friend Wally Wood's alternative comics magazine witzend. During this time he also became involved in the production of THUNDER Agents, scripting a number of stories and ghostwriting several others for Wood. Four issues after it was started, control of witzend was turned over to Pearson, with the understanding that he would continue the title for at least another four issues. Pearson greatly exceeded these expectations and, using the name Wonderful Publishing Company, he continued editing and publishing witzend until well into the 1980s. In the 1970s he became involved with Charlton Comics as an editor, as well as designing and colouring comic book covers. He also for Charlton, along with Tower Comics, King Comics and Eclipse, among a number of others, notably as the head writer for Gold Key's Popeye comics. He continued at these pursuits into the early 1980s. Between 1975 and 1995 he lettered for almost all comic book companies, as well as doing a small amount of work as an inker. In the early 1990s he edited several titles for Eros Comix, as well as doing a limited run of his own drawings in early 2000. In 2007 he released his first book, a mystery novel entitled Drifter's Detour. It was followed in 2010 with Dancing Partners, an alternate history comedy.
