Biography

Wiacek has been active since the 1970s.  He was a member of a group of comic book inkers known as the Crusty Bunkers.  This group of comic book professional were based around Continuity Studios, a jointly run art and illustration studio that was notable for the expansion of graphic novels into genres not usually associated with comic books.  After a brief exposure to Superman (inking over Curt Swan's pencils) he moved on to regular employment with DC.  In 1978 he began his long time association with Marvel and has worked on notable franchises such as X-Men, Star Wars and She-Hulk.

He has expanded his work to other companies over the years, including working for Dark Horse and Valiant.

He also taught at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art for a short time in the early 1990s.
