Carl Burgos was an artist, mainly working in the Golden-Age and Silver-Age, who created the Human Torch for Timely / Atlas / Marvel as well as some other less well known characters for other companies.
Almost all of his superhero characters, the Human Torch, Iron Skull, Captain Marvel II, Manowar the White Streak, and Captain Marvel were androids.
Member of the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame, Inducted in 1996.
