Elizabeth Hand is a nebula-award winning author of science fiction and fantasy stories and novels. Her novels include Bibliomancy, Mortal Love, Saffron & Brimstone, Illyria, and Generation Lost. In 2006, Elizabeth Hand won the Nebula Award for the short story "Echo". Hand has also published a number of Star Wars and X-Files tie-in novels.

In 1994, Hand teamed-up with fellow science fiction writer Paul Witcover to write the series Anima for DC Comics. Anima lasted 16 issues.
