Jorge Zaffino was an Argentinian comic artist, born in 1959.

Zaffino spent his entire life working as a comic artist, first taking an unpaid apprentice job at the age of 16 at the comic studios of Ricardo and Enrique Villagran in Buenos Aires. Zaffino quickly earned recognition in his country, working on different titles, among them the popular and long-running Nippur de Lagash.

In the 80s, Zaffino made a trip to the U.S with Ricardo Villagran, who was working for Comico. During this trip, Zaffino met writer, Chuck Dixon, and together they produced Winter World, a three part series for Eclipse comics. The two would continue to collaborate on other comics, producing the influential Punisher graphic novels, Kingdom Gone and Assassin's Guild, as well as a Conan story called The Horned God. Zaffino also regularly did work for other various comics, including Critical Mass and Terror, Inc. Zaffino's last U.S based work was a story written by Dixon for Batman: Black and White. Zaffino passed away young in 2002 at the age of 43.

Zaffino is known for his striking use of heavy black inking with a combination of hatching. Despite passing young, he remains a very influential and respected figure in the field, especially to inkers.
