Leonardo Colapietro was born in Rome in 1979 and he remains there until the summer of 1988, when he moved in Perugia.

He has enrolled himself at the Academy of Art University “P. Vannucci” and in 2004 he graduated with Painting Chair.

The thesis central theme, was historical evolution of FX techniques, particularly about cinematographic make-up. At the same time Leonardo has worked in concept-design and graphics fields for advertising campaign to pay his university studies. He has collaborated with spectacle agencies and theatrical companies too.

2007 is the year in which passion to the comics world required the turning point that, in 2009, will lead him and his colleagues to work together and to found a new structure of services in comics, the Mantis Studio Comics.

From 2007 to 2014 he was a founder and talent for Mantis Studio Comics: during this period, he started collaborations with publishers like Absolute Black Editions, Darklight Studios, Primal Paper Comics, Titanium Comics, Atomic Rockets Comics, Verticomics, TIWI, SBE and many others.

Aside this path, he keeps exploring digital coloring techniques and comics Illustration, based on HD-drawing.

Working with a number of realities and publishers like SB Editore, Smartcomix, Noise Press, Ed. Inkiostro and with the Pay-tv Network of SKY Arts, he is actually divided between the Zenescope series Van Helsing as cover artist/regular interior artist, two experimental projects with Madefire/Dr. Atomic’s and a french publisher.
