Classically trained as a painter, Mark "Tex" Texeira can pencil and ink his own work. He was born and raised in New York City, were he attended Manhattan's High School of Art and Design, and was granted a Presidential Scholarship at the School of Visual Arts. Tex would later drop out of school to pursue a career in commercial arts. He would break out into comics in the 1980s.
