Although he has worked on many of the thrills for the weekly 'progs' his largest contributions have been dedicated to a select few Mills creations:

- Defoe
- Finn
- Flesh
- Greysuit
- Invasion! (a story from Prog 1 that continued decades later as Savage)
- Nemesis the Warlock (and Torquemada)
- Slaine (a long running fantasy saga that started in the early 1980s)
- Visible Man
Charley's War
Pat Mills is also the creator and writer of the all-time classic Charley's War (illustrated by Joe Colquhoun) that ran in Battle (and was later reprinted in Eagle when the two comics merged).
