Ryder Windham has worked with Dark Horse Comics as an editor and writer since the mid-1990s, mostly on works related to the Star Wars universe. He was the main writer on the Droids comic series, and the primary editor of Dark Empire II.

He has also written several non-comic stories set in the Star Wars universe, mostly aimed at young readers.
