Career

Stephen King was born in Portland, Maine in 1947, and is perhaps one of the most famous and commercially successful horror writers of all time. King's first novel, Carrie, was published in 1974 and went on to become a bestseller, inspiring the first of many movie adaptations of King works. He has since written and published more than fifty books, and hundreds of short stories.

In Comics

It would hardly surprise anyone that Stephen King was influenced by comic books: this can be seen in the 1982 film Creepshow, which paid tribute to the E.C. Line of horror comics, of which King is a self-proclaimed lifelong fan.

In March of 2010 he took his first direct step into comics when he wrote his first comic book, penning the script for the first five issues of the Vertigo series American Vampire. American Vampire would not be his first original work for one of the Big Two Companies. In 1985, he penned script for 3 pages in Marvels Heroes For Hope starring the X-Men.

Many of his works have been adapted to comic book form, including:

  • The Lawnmower Man
  • Road Rage
  • Stephen King's Creepshow
  • Stephen King's N.
  • The Talisman: The Road of Trials
