Story arcs did not exist in the same format in the silver age, as most comics were still serialized, with little character development carried over for characters between issues. The introduction of the character Zatanna was a minor exception. Never receiving her own series (she was a back-up feature for a short time in various titles) she did show up sporadically through the early silver age, in stories where she searched for her father (including in her first appearance.) This came to a close in Justice League of America #51.
