Plot Summary
Prelude
The artifact Sonatine used transforms into a bluish light that travels though New York. It revives one dead patient in an ambulance on its way. The woman seems fine, and is sent home. At night she gets an urge to go for a walk, and her husband follows her.
The reports of missing people are stacking up and Sara Pezzini takes an interest in it. Pezzini checks on Lisa Buzanis, and the Witchblade whispers "Weave" to her. Jake McCarthy finds that a lot of patients who had near death experience, have gone missing. Pezzini and Jake follow one patient who they could find to a cemetery where the Witchblade freaks out about the Weave.
Endgame
Sara Pezzini asks the help of Lara Croft as she has more experience with the mystical. Pezzini goes to question nearby people, if they have seen anything, and Lara is left alone in the graveyard to poke around. Lara is attacked by an old man who wants her to "join the light". Lara kills the man and an orb of light pops out. Lara follows the light to an abandoned part of a subway, there she finds a sleeping statue, and when looking at it, she is given the Weave powers. Now compelled to free the sleeper, she fight the guardians, but is tossed through a wall in front of a train causing an explosion.
Pezzini is attracted by the explosion and sees transformed Lara, who informs her that the Weave wants the Witchblade. The police try to stop Lara but she easily defeats them, and kidnaps Pezzini. Lara brings Pezzini to the sleeper, who then is awoken.
The waking of the sleeper creates a time rift which pulls a group of people who were robbing a museum from the future. The sleeper is revealed to be Tarsem Vox, also from the future. Tarsem wants to use the Witchblade to transform the world into his image. The newcomers attack Tarsem. Pezzini thinks the Witchblade brought the people from future here, and asks the help of Rayla, who has a connection to Witcblade. Tarsem orders Lara Croft to take the Witchblade as well. Pezzini, Rayla and Lara are fighting over the control of the Witchblade, and Lara wins. But this clears her mind, now seeing who Tarsem Vox really is, she absorbs all the matter he had spread into herself. Not being able to hold the energy, she flies above New York and explodes.
Epologue
Sara Pezzini is visited by the future people in her apartment who want her help. Unknowingly they are observed by the Level 42. The things go out of hand when Rayla attacks Pezzini. Aiden then makes a decision to leave, as things didn't went as hoped.
