Cable is drawn to the Everglades when he intercepts a distress call from Lee Forrester. He helps her fight off her attacker, Senyaka. The two then struggle to outrun an approaching hurricane. They are welcomed into a shack and attempt to pass the night, but the two are wracked with painful memories. They learn that their host is the demon D'Spayre who gains nourishment from their suffering. Cable and Lee are able to band together, however, and find hope. With D'Spayre defeated, Belasco presents himself and coerces Cable to help him fight against S'ym, a demon that wants the Nexus of All Realities to consume the Earth. Cable fights S'ym and wins. Belasco is able to shut the Nexus down and Cable and Lee are able to get back to their lives.
