Plot summary
When a small robot named Widget is discovered during a brief battle with the Crazy Gang, Kitty Pryde takes him in. Unknown to his power, Kitty "adopts him" and he becomes a honourary member of Excalibur. However, after a team known as the Lightning Force are teleported to Earth-616 from their own reality (Earth-597); Widget's dysfunctional transporter is discovered, taking Excalibur into a whole new world. They stop off in many of these alternate lodgings through the Multiverse, slowly attempting to find their way home. Hazardous counterparts are met however making this a near impossible journey, battling monsters, aliens, magicians; the works!
At the end of each supposed adventure, Kitty Pryde attempt will reprogram Widget to try to send the team back home. She generally does not succeed, leading the team into further worlds where more evil creatures are waiting for them.
