Nightcrawler organizes a bachelor party for Colossus in Las Vegas, even though Colossus is less than enthused about it. Joined by Iceman, Gambit and Pyro, the X-Men boys are celebrating in a club in but Colossus is very much in his head and walks off to take a breather. However, he finds himself ambushed in the washroom by Lydia Nance's sentient A.I. named Alpha, who attacks him and kidnaps him.

When Iceman updates Kitty Pryde of Colossus' kidnapping, she gathers the rest of the X-Men, Rachel Grey, Storm and Rogue, to join the boys in Las Vegas and search for clues. Once in Las Vegas, Rachel's heightened psychic powers help her locate Colossus - he is held in Lydia Nance's facility in the Savage Land. Upon the X-Men's arrival to Lydia's facility, they are attacked by Alpha and his many copies. Lydia tells Colossus that the reason for his kidnap is to use his bloodline, which was once used to cure the Legacy Virus, in order to create a virus that will kill mutants. Before being able to rescue Colossus, the X-Men realize that they are too late, as a huge jet leaves the facility, with Colossus in it, headed towards Space.

After some psychic probing by Rachel, the X-Men find out where Colossus is headed. They keep Lydia Nance as prisoner and get help from Alpha Flight to head towards space and rescue Colossus. But they are too late as Alpha successfully created a new virus that will kill all mutants and sent it towards earth. Storm, with her stormcaster, as well as Pyro, managed to destroy all the nanites containing the virus. Iceman defeated Alpha in front of an imprisoned Lydia and tells her she will pay. The X-Men must leave the facility in Space because it was set to auto-destruct, but the debris knocked out a few X-Men and their jet. Colossus ended up over-exerting himself to lift the debris and the X-Men were able to leave in the knick of time, however Colossus had to be hospitalized. By his bedside, Kitty asks Colossus to marry her.

Following all the recent events, Kitty, Colossus and the X-Men prepare for the wedding. Magik expresses to Kitty her concerns regarding the nuptials, while the wedding environment sparks something in Gambit. To everyone's shock though, Kitty has cold feet and doesn't go through with the wedding. She later explains to Colossus that even though they love one another, maybe a wedding isn't what's in store for them. However, the wedding doesn't go to complete waste as Gambit takes the opportunity to propose to Rogue and get married then and there in front of all their loved ones.
