A tribe of Amazons led by Nzinga, from the city of Gamburu, one of the Black Kingdoms of the Hyborian Age of Conan stories, the Amazons are cited by Robert E. Howard in the essay The Hyborian Age, but their story has been expanded upon by Lin Carter and L. Sprague de Camp.

One of the possible inspirations for the Gamburu Amazons would be the Dahomey Amazons (present-day Benin).
