The horde was founded by Thrall after he had escaped from Lordaeron to the distant land of Kalimdor in order to create a permanent home for the orcish people and escape human prejudice. Once there he met new and old friends alike that would eventually become a part of the horde, these other races include the mighty Tauren, Darkspear Trolls, Blood Elf's, the renegade undead faction lead by Sylvanas Windrunner called the Forsaken, as well as certain factions of Goblins and Pandaren.

While all races of the horde has their very own capital city, the orcish capital Ogrimmar located in the northern most part of the barren wasteland called Durotar stands proudly as the true capital of the horde faction.
