The Department of Metahuman Affairs is a subdivision of the DEO and is led by Sarge Steel. Nemesis and Diana Prince are also members of the organization. The goal of the Department is to police dangerous Metahumans and deal with public altercations that might endanger the public.

The Department of Metahuman Affairs was founded by Professor Stein due to the belief that metahumans will be the new Arms Race and America needed to retain its supremacy. Under Martin Stein the D.M.A. ran a program which engineered accidents which led to various metahumans.
Professor Stein was personally involved in Ronnie Raymond transformation into Firestorm. Despite being arrest for his crimes Stein never faced justice as the President supported the Department actives.
