First Strike was the offensive force of S.H.A.D.E. who were deployed by Father Time to fight Uncle Sam's last incarnation of the Freedom Fighters. under the command of Chief of Justice, the strikers surprised the fighters and almost defeated them, but they were defeated by the intervention of Black Condor (John Trujillo).Returning with the defeating, Father Time demoted to chief of Justice and put Americommando in charge of the team. The first action of the new leader was to kill Spin Doctor by talking him back. A second female Spin Doctor replaced the killed one.

Including new members Railgun, Barracuda and a new Lady Liberty, this new incarnation of the team was more sucessful in capture the Fighters, but at the cost of the death of Propaganda, their telepath. a the hands of the Human Bomb.

The First Strike would fight again the forces of Uncle Sam when he escaped from his imprisionment to stop the Cosmigods heralds of the Anti-Life, who were preceded by Gonzo, the mechanical bastard. Depiste the evident danger, the First Strike team followed blindy the orders to engage with the Freedom Fighters. The balance of forces was against the fighters, specially when it was revealed than Stan SIlver was a mole in the team and now was helping First Strike. But the charisma of Uncle Sam and the return of Ray Terril give the fighters a chance to stop the Cosmigods and the First Strike team.

As consecuence of these events, Father TIme and Uncle Sam agreed on give the Freedom Fighters the same status and back up than belong the First Strike team. The destiny of the members of the team is unknown, but most possible, they still continued working for S,H.A.D.E. in other assignations.
