Origin

The Inky Boys are creations of Joshua Clay's subconscious, accessed and brought into reality by Dorothy Spinner's psychic powers, which have been strengthened by the materioptikon. They seem to be extracted from painful memories from his childhood.

Creation

The Inky Boys were created by Grant Morrison and Doug Braithwaite. They made their first appearance in Doom Patrol #25.

The Inky Boys are summoned into existence when Joshua Clay finds the materioptikon. They attack him and force him into a surreal dimension, where they menace him with giant scissors. They suddenly vanish from existence.

Powers and Abilities

The Inky Boys are functionally immortal and invulnerable, as they are ideas. They have reality warping abilities, so long as they are in proximity to a materioptikon.
