The Knight Shift was a team of metahumans guards who acted in behalf of Doctor 30. They were a group of mentally unstable subjects who developted sadism and cruelty against their fellow metahuman prisioners, depiste they also were prisioners in the past.

Two of these prisioners were the brothers Nolan, who were capable of change into living iron. Both siblingstolerated the tortures until Ferro run away from the facility. When Ferro returned to free his brother Douglas, he was captured by the Knight Shift, because his brotherhad at last joined to the Knigth Shift. However, when he saw how the other members of the team threatened his brother, Douglas caused a riot among the prisioners who take revenge on the outnumbered guards and their leader, leaving no survivors of the team.

The Knight Shift was a homage to the X-men in the same way as the Imperial Guard is a take on the Legion of Super-heroes.

Their membership beyond Dr 30 included X-men analogues: Taser (Cyclops); Psych (Jean Grey); Landslide (Iceman); Fangg (Wolverine); Kritter (Beast). Douglas Nolan joined the team under the name Ingot (Colossus).
