Background

The Legion of the Strange was created by Grant Morrison as a homage to the works of Jack Kirby and Stan Lee on Fantastic Four. In an adventure wrote in a style similar to the early Marvel tales, Morrison transformed the Doom Patrol in a team more similar to the early explorers of the Marvel Universe. The Legion of the Strange debuted in Doom Patrol #53.
