Created for the New 52, the Slate Gang have advanced technology and resources. Their dominance in New York City was shaken when a hero, Static, finally arrived in the Big Apple. Due to Static defeating them at several points, they lose much of their prestige. They later come into conflict with their former associates after Static fakes his death.
