The Seven Shadow were a team of mystery men who protected Chicago from crime in the '40s. The Veil, Dr. Nowhere, Shard (a.k.a. The Luminary), Man-At-Arms, Jake Justice, Lodestar and Scarab found friendship in crimefighting and adventuring in the windy city.

Sadly they fell when their paths crossed with Johnny Sorrow, recently empowered by the King of Tears. Unprepared for deal with magics, the Seven Shadows perished under the gaze of Sorrow. Only Scarab survived to alert the JSA.
