The oldest colonies in the galaxy of the 31st century Winathians are born as twins. From the flora and fauna from the planet of Winath a genetic mutation would cause all its denizens to be born as twins.

Creation
Winathians would make their first appearance in the pages of Adventure Comics 247-The Legion of Super-Heroes in April of 1958. The Winathians were created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino.
History
Original Continuity: New Earth
The denizens of the planet Winath are from the 31st century and reside in the Milky Way system. Colonized by humans at some point between the 20th and 30th century. The Winathinas live in a democratic society who are agrarian in nature and have vast agricultural farmlands and homesteads in the agriculturally abundant planet of Winath. The Winathians are known throughout the galaxy to be a peaceful farmers who live in a beautiful paradise far away from all the Earth-Gov dilemmas.
Winathians are also known for another fascinating biological fact. Almost all Winathians are twins. A mutation would accrue once the original settlers arrived on the planet forming a symbiotic trait in which all flora and fauna on the planet would produce fraternal twins. This twinning factor was not planned by the inhabitants but would prove a benefit in populating the newly colonized planet. Not having a twin is still considered a taboo to some degree, alienating the none twin Winathian to some degree from the general population. This is a lingering affect to old superstations.
The twin members of the Legion of Super-Heroes Lightning Lad and Lighting Lass are both from the planet Winath. The disgraced brother of the twins Lightning Lord is also a Winathian.
Notable Winathians
Lightning Lass: Ayla Ranzz is the fraternal twin sister of Lightning Lad and a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. She is also the sister of Mext Ranzz the villain Lighting Lord.
Lightning Lad: Garth Ranzz is better known as Lightning Lad founding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. He is the fraternal twin brother to Lighting Lass and the younger brother to Lightning Lord.
Lightning Lord: The villain known as Lightning Lord is the oldest brother of the Ranzz twins, forming his own pass for power and control bitter at his family and homeworld.
