Overview

Seeking to conquer at a faster pace, Aku sought an army worthy of the task. He therefore had his scientists develop robots capable of serving him. After extensive trials and errors, the X-Model series was created. These relentless assassins carried out Aku's orders to the letter. They were expendable however, and not programmed for self-preservation, leading them to to gradually be destroyed one by one in the line of duty. It wasn't long however before Aku's scientists developed the Beetle Drones to serve as his new army.

The X-Model designated as X9 however was able to survive the retirement of his series, thanks to an experimental emotion chip that made him more capable than its other fellow X-Models. Aku would later force this retired and free-thinking X-Model to go after Jack.
