In the Legend of Drizzt story, House Do'urden begins out as the tenth House in Menzoberranzan. However in this underground city, only the greatest Houses are given the right to be a part of the Council. So it is that House Do'urden begins to put their plans into action. Thus, they can eliminate House DeVir and rise in their hierarchy.
