Vila Xurupita Futebol Clube It is a soccer team from the Brazilian Disney comics of José Carioca, the name comes from the neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro where the characters live, Vila Xurupita.

Creation

In Zé Carioca #479 (1961), illustrated by Jorge Kato, Zé Carioca is part of the team "Seresteiros da Tijuca" and faces a team where the goalkeeper is Gladstone Gander and due to his luck, he does what the Carioca team doesn't make goals. Years later, the team is referred to as "Brejeiros da Tijuca". perhaps it was the authors' intention to say that the character lived in the real neighborhood called Tijuca.

In the 1970s, with the creation of the Vila Xurupita, Ivan Saidenberg and Renato Canini created Vila Xurupita Futebol Clube.
