The genocidal cult know as Red Kross was founded by Mercy, a crazy mutant that is a self appointed prophet. The followers of Mercy are counted in the thousands and believe that killing a person/mutant is releasing him/her from suffering and the demons of the world. The Red Kross are in a genocidal campaign in the Great plains and the South of the old USA, destroying any attempt to recreate civilization. In their religious crusade, they meet the Wild knights, and identifies them as demons to be annihilated.

Despite the escape of Zack and his Wild Knights, Mercy survived the encounter and begin a greater ambition: purge all of the Shattered Earth with the remaining atomic bombs in California. He received the help of Gistaldo in the mission of purging the remaining Wild knights.
