Creation

The concept of DEMON was originally part of and RPG game set titled Hero System; Champions. This organization was used as a antihero book for Champions describe the secret arcane cabal DEMON, hungry for wealth and power at all costs.

Later they made their first comic based appearance on the Champions series printed by eclipse comics in October 1986. This is the genre most closely associated with the HERO System, and was also the title of the first HERO System game in 1981. The Organization was the main arch nemesis of the superhero team the Champions.

History

DEMON is an evil organization bent on gaining worldly power through magic and the acquisition of magical artifacts, though the rank and file use technological weapons. This ever growing yet secretive Satanic organization has been around for a very long time, changing with the times yet never losing their intent. Its chief members are known as Morbanes; its bases as Demonhames.

it is ranked as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, threats to all as we know it. All of the Champions have had dealings with them in some way: the Nazis that gave Flare and her siblings their powers were bankrolled by DEMON. Icestar’s archenemy, Madame Synn, supplies them with weapons. Rose has kept gullible old women from inadvertently funding them. Marksman has thwarted their efforts to infiltrate government offices. And the magical Hellfire Crown they sent Foxbat to steal has a connection to Giant’s archenemy.
