Origin

Triffids are mobile carnivorous plants, able to blind and kill prey with a deadly stinger.

Creation

The Triffids were created by British author John Wyndham for his 1951 novel Day of the Triffids, which was subsequently adapted into comic strip form by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, Ernie Chan and Rico Rival for Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction #1.
