The Munchkins are the little natives of Munchkin Country in the Land of Oz. In the books, their original ruler (the Wicked Witch of the East) was killed by Dorothy Gale when her house fell on the witch. Then the Good Witch of the North comes to great Dorothy and save the Munchkins.
