Blood Hunt

When Varnae, the first vampire, finally succeeds at possessing Blade, the vampire hunter, he took leadership of The Structure and conceived a new plan for world domination. The Bloodcoven were at his disposal. Leveraging Blade's friendship with the Avengers, Varnae managed to sneak the Bloodcoven into the Avengers' new headquarters, The Impossible City, a low orbit space station. Their main assignment was taking Scarlet Witch, Thor, and Black Panther hostage. Varnae had plans to turn Black Panther so he would do his bidding searching for a lost vampire temple in Wakanda. He also wanted to combine Thor's divine blood with Wanda's magic to give him full control over the darkforce, which he had used to fill the sky creating eternal night.
The remaining Avengers took to the streets to fight off the vampire hordes, joined by new heroes including Dracula and Blade's daughter, Bloodline. The Bloodcoven was sent to do battle against them again. Luckily, Vision was immune to Megrim's psychic attack. He flew her above the darkforce, exposing her to sunlight. After Megrim was destroyed, Vision returned overcharged with solar power. Captain Marvel was inspired to punch a hole in the darkforce with her energy blasts big enough and for long enough to force the Bloodcoven to retreat. The heroes give chase, getting Bloodline in a position to stake her own father as she was destined to do per Dracula. this forced Varnae's astral form from Blade's body and into a magic trap of Wanda's, while Iron Man saved Blade's life with his on-board medical equipment.
At the same time, Doctor Doom and Doctor Strange managed to clear the skies of darkforce. Their magic spell had the additional affect of turning all vampires into daywalkers. With no master and no longer needing to cower from the sun, The Bloodcoven made their escape.
Daywalkers

Able to walk in the sun, The Bloodcoven hid in Brooklyn and were struggling with their thirst for enhanced blood. They started to recruit other normal vampires to grow their ranks. These vampires reported run-ins with a team that had spontaneously assembled during the eternal night crisis, calling themselves The Blood Hunters. The team consisted of:
- Dagger: a light-based mutate who could purify some vampires of their infection
- Elsa Bloodstone: a seasoned monster hunter
- Yelena Belova: a Russian trained super spy
- Hallow's Eve: imbued with limbo magic
Bloodstorm sends Smoke Eater, Cruel, and Unusual after them, but they are overwhelmed by Dagger's purifying light. They nearly retreated but were saved by Damascene and Bloodstorm. Luckily, Dagger's last attack knocked her out, and they were able to kidnap her before the team could get her to the hospital. They bring her back to their Brooklyn warehouse where they started to collect her blood for future feedings.
When the Blood Hunters tracked them down and raided their warehouse, Bloodstorm fed on Dagger's blood manifesting light-based powers of their own. They each took on a different Blood Hunter. Smoke Eater was even able to possess Yelena. The two teams seemed fairly even until members of the Bloodcoven started to be sucked into the darkforce dimension covertly by Cloak, Dagger's partner who was injured during the initial event.
