Originally members of the Inhumans, they were born with powers of persuasion, able to make those around them agree and do their wishes, as well as influence decisions and even their outward appearances in the mind of others.

But they were not trusted even by their own kind and left the Great Refuge. They would co-mingle with humans and continue their race. During World War II, they were captured by the Nazis. Under their 'Loki Project,' the Nazis would attempt to control them and use them as a weapon by torturing and brainwashing them.

At the end of the war, they escaped and swore to never be subjugated again. Under the leadership of Senso, they agreed to manipulate those in power across the world so that their existence would remain secret, thus saving them from being found and having to relive their terrible past.
