Hordeculture consists of four female scientists of advanced age (the youngest being 64), who specialize in the genetic manipulation and propagation of botanical lifeforms. Their motive is a rapid decrease in the planet's human population returning the Earth to a more ideal state.

They are able to manipulate the Krakoan gates, transporting themselves to the Savage Land, in order to take samples of the plants the X-Men have been cultivating to create their miracle drugs.
